Children's Rhymes

What is the point of them? Other than that they rhyme?

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall.
What? An egg, with arms and legs, got up on a wall? His name is Humpty Dumpty?
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
Is this the lesson? You take big risks (be an egg and sit on a wall) and you will fail?
All the King's horses and all the King's men,
Fine. We worked as a team. +1
Couldn't put Humpty back together again.
All that effort and the egg is dead... THE END!

At least Dreamworks did something with this character....

.... then you wikipedia the rhyme, that you have been deriding for over a week to your wife, and find out it does have a meaning and it does teach stuff...

I guess that is the point. You might think you've got this solid idea or way of looking at the world, but that tough shell that keeps so many things out can be crushed with a great fall. It will crush you at a time that you were not expecting it. Humpty didn't get up on that wall by chance.
