Missed Call: Car Salesman

This guy sounded like: 1) he was eating something just before getting on the call and wanted to sink his teeth into another special treat 2) a total sweat bag

Yeah, this message is for Mary. Mary, this is Jeff, down at Tacoma City Toyota. (Exhales... way too long). Reason for my call is Im just trying to be helpful. I know you're interested in looking a little further at that Jeep. And I was just seeing if I could be of some help. Sooo (chewing his curd or some sort of smacking of the mouth - really ugly stuff) the number down here (chewing curd) xxx-xxx-xxx and ask for the sales manager Jeff. I would love to be of some help. Thanks (in a really gross sarcastic way).

Hi Phil, this is Angie of Arizona ENT Hearing and Associates. I was just calling to, um, get you scheduled. We have authorization for your hearing aids. It was approved. So we are ordering your aids...hearing aids either today or tomorrow. And we just need to make an appointment for you to come in and get them fitted, um. Usually takes a couple of weeks for us to get those. So the sooner we get you on our schedule the better. And we book up. And we are looking about, two, two weeks out right now. Just give us a call back. My direct number is....

Hi Phil, this is Angie of Arizona ENT Hearing and Associates, just giving you another call. Uh, I did get the approval from Book Rehab, at to, to um, get the hearing aids. We do want to get those fitted to you, there is a time limit. So, we need to get you in. Uhmm... so um, as soon as we can. We are looking at a few weeks though, into May. So, if you can please give me a call back my direct line is xxx-xxx-xxxx, so we can at least have you on our schedule so Book Rehab sees an appointment made and they won't cancel, anything. So, please call me as soon as you can. Again, that's xxx-xxx-xxxx, so we can get you on our books and schedule appointment and um get those hearing aids ordered. Okay? Thank you. Buh-Bye.

1) I wish you could hear this lady's voice on the call back. She was exasperated.
2) I called back and told them they had the wrong number.

Missed Call: Funeral

Names have been changed. My thoughts are in italics.

(inhale) um, yeah, Father Art (Father Art gave you the wrong number...), this is Bob Costas calling. Um, I'm the guy who spoke to you this morning about Peter Jennings, who passed away, and um, the family is is is willing to wait and stay in town, um, until next week so that, um, so that we could get you to do the mass, ee-um, and and do it on one of your days off (I see why Father Art lied to you about his number). (exhale) Uh-um, We haven't.... picked a mortuary yet. I've spoken with several and there not gunna start the process until Monday. Umm, anyway, I had two questions, if if we do a mass... the, can we do it without actually having Pete's remains, his ashes present? Or is that a requirement that the remains be present (yeah...... not going to call you back)? Number one. Uhm, and number two, I know I asked you this morning, but um, I was wondering if if you (some kind of robot/person coughs in the background) you could refer me to a couple of, um, small churches (teeny tiny ones) so I could start calling churches, to find one that, um, a Catholic church that we can do a mass out of (small Catholic one, got it). Um...My number is 555-555-5555. And I hope to talk to you... sometime over the weekend. Um..I hope your day went well (Thanks?). I will talk to you later on. God Bless. Bye.

Missed Call: Father Hart

Names have been changed. My thoughts in italics

June 16, 2014 12:47PM

"Yes, Father Hart, this is Braxon Miller with LaPloma (I think that is what he said) Funeral Services. I'm sitting with the Peter King family and they were ask, wondering (he's not sure) if you would do mass (but I swear it sounds like meth. I seriously listened to this part at least 10 times) and it sounded like you discussed it with them; needed me to call you. We're looking for Thursday at 2:00 O'clock in the afternoon (Oh, right. Thanks for the clarification. I usually do funerals in the wee hours of the morning) at the Little Flower Church, on Plumb ave (there is no Plumb ave). Kietzkie n Plumb. If you could call me back, 555-555-5555 to confirm you can do it or not, I appreciate it (What did you do when he never called back....). Again, its for 2:00 O'clock on Thursday at the Little Flower Church. Thank you, Father. Bye. (Okay, Bye. Won't be there)"

My unique telephone number

I have a very unique number. It looks like it could be for a law firm or a hotline of sorts. I get a lot of phone calls. I get phone calls from people thinking I am a church (I had one guy call me two times about the funeral for a guy in Sacramento) to a hospital.

I used to pick up and tell people they had the wrong number or mess with people. I don't anymore. One late night I got a phone call from a lady. She was frantic sounding. Something bad had happened. She said something about a gun shot to her arm. I told her that she needed to call 9-11. Now, I just let it go to VM.

I don't know why I haven't written about this sooner, I've had this number since high school, but today I got a message that I couldn't help but share. I

"Hi, this is Jane Doe, I also need to pick up films from my, uh, CTs that I had on October 6th. Its of my brain. Um, I will also be picking up the one on the 13th at the same time. Um, it will be later this afternoon, about 3:00 O'clock. My number is xxx-xxx-xxxx if you have any questions."

I do have some questions:

  1. Sounds like you have either just called or called this number in the past, but yet you got it wrong. Try redial?
  2. You're "also" picking up these two separate CT scans. What else are you coming here for?
  3. What is going on with your brain? I'm a little concerned that this is serious damage. It didn't tip you off when my answering machine wasn't for a hospital or wherever you got you CT scans?
  4. Don't hospitals usually tell you when to come get the film?
